How Sessions Work

Sessions are typically 60 minutes, with extended appointments available when clinically appropriate. Some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others choose longer-term support. Together, we'll determine an approach that aligns with your goals, preferences, and circumstances.

There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before your first appointment. We'll start where you are.

EMDR Training & Experience

I have completed approved EMDR training, am a member of EMDRIA (the EMDR International Association), and incorporate EMDR into my practice when it aligns with a client's goals and readiness. Together, we'll determine whether EMDR is an appropriate fit for your needs.

EMDR isn't the right approach for everyone, and that's okay. During our initial conversations, we'll explore your goals, history, and readiness to determine whether EMDR is a good fit for you. There is no pressure to move faster than feels comfortable.

I use Doxy.me, a secure platform designed specifically for healthcare appointments. You'll use the same link and password for each session, making it easy to access appointments from your phone, tablet, or computer.

If you're feeling unsure about the technology, we can arrange a brief test session beforehand so you can become comfortable with the platform and know exactly what to expect.

Coverage depends on your individual plan, and we will do our utmost to help you find the appropriate funded program whenever possible. You're also welcome to contact your insurance provider, NIHB, or the Métis Nation of Ontario directly.
