Counselling can help anyone, no matter the situation. Speaking your truth with a trained, skilled therapist can be the push you need to set you on the path to healing your life. Your therapist's goal is to listen to you in a non-judgmental way and help you find your way to healing through proven techniques, leaving you feeling happy and whole again.
Counselling will help you understand yourself more. It will show you how your past experiences have shaped who you are today and guide you towards a whole and healthy future. Depending on your goals and wishes for your healthy life, talking through your feelings will help you make decisions to set you on the right path.
For your first appointment, your counsellor will gather information from you, such as your background, your experiences, and your vision for your healing. Your therapist will discuss therapy options depending on your situation, your goals, and your hopes. You'll be able to ask any questions you have about your treatment plan.
The length of a therapy session is usually 60 minutes, although 120-minute appointments are also available. As for the number of sessions, it can vary, from as few as 3 to however many you need to heal. Your counsellor will work with you to determine the right pace and duration for your individual journey.

Virtual counselling has many benefits. Many people need specialized counselling services but are unable to leave home due to children, work, or other responsibilities, but virtual counselling works around your schedule and is far more accessible. It also removes pressures like travel, office settings, and social anxiety. Many people find it easier to open up over the phone or video without sitting face-to-face with a therapist, making it easier to share deeply personal thoughts and feelings.
Very little. Sessions are available via secure video call, by telephone, or in person. For video sessions, all you need is a computer with a camera, a tablet, or a smartphone. For telephone sessions, just a phone. We’ll walk you through the setup before your first appointment.
At CAST Clinical Services, I truly value my Métis and First Nation clients. I received my Master's degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Indigenous Field of Study, and I have walked with Elders, Teachers, knowledge keepers, and researchers who gifted me with knowledge and tools, trusting in me to share on my path of being a helper.
I respect and include traditional teachings when appropriate, am respectful of Christian beliefs, and work with each client's individual beliefs and preferences, including LGBTQ+, Two Spirit, non-denominational, and more. I provide safe healing spaces for individuals, families, and communities, and refer to Elders and traditional healers when needed.
Coverage depends on your individual plan, and we will do our utmost to help you find the appropriate funded program whenever possible. You're also welcome to contact your insurance provider, NIHB, or the Métis Nation of Ontario directly.

Assessments are available promptly after your request. We understand that timely access is often critical, especially when you or someone you care about needs help entering a treatment program. Contact us and we'll move quickly to get you scheduled.
A Treatment Entry Assessment is for individuals seeking access to alcohol or drug treatment services. It determines the appropriate level of care and opens the door to a treatment program of your choice. We also help with referrals and form completion.
A Return to Work (SAP) Assessment is a Substance Abuse Professional assessment conducted on behalf of an employer to determine whether an employee can safely return to work following a substance-related incident.
